Continue medication for hypertension

With appropriate medication, people with hypertension live longer and healthier. It may be necessary to take drugs for long periods, sometimes for the rest of his life, to reduce the risk of complications from hypertension.

After taking a medication for some time, many people question the need to continue taking the medicine every day. This is often called "weariness of the treatment." However, if you stop your medication, your blood pressure will begin to rise again and you run the risk of health problems.

Remember the benefits of lowering your blood pressure with medication, including:
  •      improving cardiovascular health;
  •      lower risk of death;
  •      decreased risk of disability caused by stroke or heart attack.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for ways to facilitate the making permanent of your medications.
